As a Security Officer - Crossdock Entry Control in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will support access control by checking credentials, issuing badges, and managing entry points for employees, visitors, and vendors. You will complete routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related concerns, and document activity with clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, credentials, and authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
  • Manage visitor processing including sign-in and sign-out, issuing temporary badges, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in locations.
  • Screen and document inbound and outbound vehicle traffic including trucks and delivery vehicles, confirming appointments, load information, and routing instructions per site procedure.
  • Monitor entrances, dock areas, and designated interior and exterior zones to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Operate and monitor access control systems, alarms, and video surveillance equipment, reporting irregularities per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete routine reports including incident reports, access logs, and shift activity logs with clear and timely details.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
  • Communicate professionally with Allied Universal supervision, site contacts, and local responders to support coordinated incident response and site operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
