As a Security Officer - Data Center Gate Driver in Groveland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer on an access control post at a leading tech and telecom location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support visitor check-in, and monitor activity to help reduce security-related issues. You will remain visible, communicate clearly with employees and guests, and partner with site teams with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing guests to the proper check-in process.
- Monitor and manage badge access, turnstiles, and controlled doors to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or tailgating.
- Maintain sign-in and visitor management logs, including delivery and vendor entries, while protecting confidential information.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the chain of command as needed.
- Support security-related screening protocols for packages, equipment, and deliveries, following site procedures for restricted items.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, and report irregular activity per post orders.
- Communicate professionally with on-site staff, management, and emergency services when needed, using clear radio and/or phone etiquette.
- Document incidents, access issues, and unusual activity with accurate written reports and timely notifications.
- Assist with crowd flow during high-traffic periods such as shift changes, meetings, and special events, maintaining orderly access points.
- Participate in drills and follow emergency procedures for fire alarms, medical situations, and severe weather, coordinating with site contacts as directed.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned by Allied Universal and/or site management based on operational needs.
Minimum Requirements: - - A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- - Security Experience - 1+ Years.
- - 21+ Years of Age.
- - Customer Service Experience - preferred.
- - Guard Card/License - preferred.
- - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
