As a Security Officer - Logistics Checkpoint Screener in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, support access control and badge verification, screen visitors and deliveries, and document security-related activity with clear communication. You will stay visible at key entry points, respond to alarms and/or incident reports as needed, and provide customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative approach. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors and/or vendors entering a logistics and distribution location using established screening procedures.
  • Verify identification, access authorization and appointment information prior to granting entry and/or directing individuals to the appropriate check-in area.
  • Operate and monitor screening equipment and conduct bag, package and/or parcel inspections in accordance with post orders and client requirements.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by controlling access at entrance points, driver check-in areas and/or dock entry locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms and other security-related systems, and report unusual activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports, logs and incident documentation in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Communicate with site personnel and/or emergency responders during medical events, fire alarms, severe weather and other site emergencies as directed by post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
