Position summary:
The Fetal Care and Surgery Center (FCSC) at Boston Children's Hospital - in affiliation with Brigham & Women's Hospital - provides diagnosis, ongoing screening and care for mothers carrying babies with confirmed or suspected congenital anomalies. Using advanced diagnostic tools, groundbreaking surgical and medical treatments, and supportive care, our fetal specialists are increasing the chances of survival and the quality of life for many newborns. We offer compassionate care and support that extends throughout childhood - from prenatal diagnosis and counseling through treatment and long-term follow-up. Key responsibilities:
  • Patient Encounter Management:
    • Providing positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations
    • Collaborating with referring Obstetrics and/or Maternal Fetal Medicine providers that are referring patients to the MFCC
    • Scheduling patients and supporting the patient encounter, including scheduling MRI, Ultrasound and Fetal Echocardiograms as well as with supporting departments
  • Check In / Check Out:
    • Greeting and directing patients, families and visitors
    • Monitoring daily schedule and coordinating flow with clinicians and supervisor
  • Administrative:
    • Recording and forwarding messages, triaging calls for urgent information or services, initiating call for emergency services
    • Providing routine clerical support as needed
  • Process Improvement:
    • Actively contributing to departmental and organizational initiatives and projects with a focus on continuous process improvement
    • Assisting in implementing change in internal systems and procedures
Minimum qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma / GED
Experience:
  • Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies

*Schedule will be four 10 hour shifts per week working between the hours of 6:30am and 6pm Monday through Friday, after a 90 day training period.*

This role is eligible for a $2,000 sign on bonus (not eligible for internal candidates).

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
