| Primary Purpose of Position |
Supervision of 6-10 full-time housekeepers. Provides supervision of housekeeping services within the residence halls to include planning and scheduling work, coaching and meeting training needs of staff, determining material needs for work assignments, and inspecting each building to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times. |
| Minimum Qualifications |
Graduation from High School or possession of a
GED, and one year of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Where applicable, must be eligible for required certification.

| Essential Job Functions |
Duties include the supervision of 6-10 housekeepers and the performance and supervision of housekeeping and floor maintenance tasks for University Housing.
These positions interact daily with their supervisees and fill in if needed. They plan and schedule work, coach and evaluate staff, determine housekeeping supply needs for residence halls, and conduct regular inspections of each building to ensure
APPA Level 1 of 5 (lower the score higher the level of cleanliness) housekeeping standards are maintained.
The Housekeeping Supervisors may assist with the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and recognition of staff.
Each Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with the other supervisors, Assistant Housekeeping Coordinator, Housekeeping Coordinator, and Housekeeping Supply and Equipment Manager to maintain a steady workflow, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and build a cohesive housekeeping unit. |
| Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
This position requires the employee to have strong interpersonal skills when dealing with housekeeping staff, administrators, and students, as well as the ability to receive and carry out detailed instructions. Position requires employee to supervise a staff of 6-10 housekeepers and be able to coordinate work schedules to accommodate building needs to ensure work is completed. Position requires employee to have the ability to communicate through a variety of methods such as email, telephone and person to person communication. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
Prefer at least five (5) years of housekeeping experience, at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or other customer facing positions, knowledge of
APPA cleaning standards, experience operating various housekeeping equipment such as scrubbers, burnishers, vacuum chariots, etc., and basic to intermediate computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Google Suite). |

Employee is required to participate in a rotating callback program.
A valid driver's license is required to allow the employee to drive a University vehicle while performing their daily duties including: checking buildings that they supervise; moving equipment and supplies; going to University and Housing locations off main campus including Human Resources, our warehouse, Physical Plant and central receiving. |
