The Opportunity:

Adobe Firefly is transforming how creators ideate, create, and express themselves through generative AI. As Firefly continues to scale, data-driven growth and high-quality experimentation are core to how we learn, prioritize, and deliver value to millions of users.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to drive growth insights, experimentation strategy, and decision-making for Firefly. In this role, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to design experiments, measure impact, and uncover opportunities to improve user acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention across Firefly surfaces.

This is a highly visible role with significant ownership, technical depth, and influence over product direction.

What you'll do:

* Define and evolve core growth, engagement, and experimentation metrics for Firefly.

* Translate ambiguous product and growth questions into structured analytical approaches.

* Identify user behavior patterns, friction points, and growth opportunities across the Firefly funnel (acquisition, activation, engagement, retention).

* Provide thought leadership on experiment design, tradeoffs, and prioritization.

* Develop, complete, and analyze experiments (A/B, multivariate, quasi-experimental) to answer critical product and growth questions.

* Partner with product teams to define experiment success metrics and guardrails aligned with user value and business goals.

* Communicate / present concise and actionable insights through engaging data storytelling to product and business partners.

* Define and scale self-serve analytics and dashboards that drives an improved understanding of product usage & end to end customer lifecycle

* Partner with data engineering to improve data quality, logging, and experimentation infrastructure.

* Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers, and Designers to guide product strategy with data.

What you'll need to succeed:

* 4+ years of experience in data science, applied statistics, or analytics, preferably in product, growth, or experimentation-focused roles.

* Deep understanding of experimental design, statistical inference, causal reasoning, and common pitfalls in experimentation.

* Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling.

* Experience using modern data science workflows on the cloud (e.g., Git, Databricks, Python, AWS, Azure or equivalent).

* Experience working with large-scale product datasets and behavioral event data.

* Proven experience influencing product or growth decisions through data.

* Strong intuition for user behavior and ability to connect metrics to real-world user experiences.

* Ability to clearly communicate complex analyses and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

* Experience partnering with senior product and engineering leaders.

* Experience with Adobe Analytics or similar web/product analytics tool.

* BS, MS, or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
