Job Description

Nature and Level of Work
Perform unskilled, manual work involving performance of work incidental or preparatory to the work of skilled tradesmen. Work is closely checked for conformance with instructions. Routine or repetitive tasks, requiring a minimum degree of skill and knowledge of trade techniques are performed subject to spot-checking. Functional contacts with other University staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
Assist skilled trades workers by performing simple, routine &/or repetitive tasks such as using, supplying or holding materials, parts, equipment or other tools; selecting tools, materials or equipment to be used; securing materials; cleaning work areas, equipment, machines, etc.

Load and unload materials, equipment, supplies, etc. May transport employees, tools, supplies and equipment to and from job site.

May make simple measurements and cut, bend, shape, apply, mix or otherwise handle materials and substances in accordance with instructions. May be required to use power tools, such as saws, drills, wrenches, etc.

May perform simple cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks on tools and equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

* Ability to read, write and make simple arithmetic computations.
* Some experience in general construction or similar work.
* Ability to drive a pickup truck or other similar utility vehicles and possession of a valid state driver's license.
* Sufficient strength and stamina to perform some heavy lifting daily.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver's license which will allow the legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri is required.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $16.00 - $18.50 hourly

Grade: GGS-C
