CEI Inspector - Jacksonville, FL

Halff has a current opening for a CEI Inspector in Jacksonville, FL location to act as a company representative on construction sites.

As a (Construction Engineering and Inspection) CEI Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of construction projects. You will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting construction activities, materials, and processes to ensure they meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail and effective communication skills will contribute to the successful delivery of projects that meet client expectations and maintain the firm's reputation for excellence.

What you will do:



  • Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes
  • Monitor the quality of construction materials, workmanship, and techniques used during the construction process
  • Document and report any non-compliant activities, deviations, or deficiencies to project managers and stakeholders
  • Perform field tests and measurements on materials such as concrete, asphalt, soils, and structural components
  • Monitor the construction progress and report any delays or potential impacts
  • Review construction plans, drawings, and technical documents and be able to verify the contractor is in compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations on construction sites
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and relevant documentation, for project records


What you will need:



  • Moderate understanding of construction practices, materials, methods, and relevant codes and regulations
  • Moderate understanding reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and technical documents
  • Moderate knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes within the construction industry
  • Familiarity with various construction testing and measurement tools and equipment
  • Moderate communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify and report discrepancies or deviations
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills for creating and maintaining inspection reports and documentation


Physical Requirements: (Minimum qualifications)



  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
