The Highlights: Reporting to the Associate Director, Budgeting & Operations, the Senior Financial Analyst provides advanced financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and transactional oversight in support of Facility Operations. The role supports both operating, capital, and real estate financial workflows, ensuring timely vendor payment coordination, monitoring financial performance, and developing reporting tools and dashboards that provide leadership with meaningful, data-driven insight. The position leverages Planon and University financial systems to enhance visibility, transparency, efficiency, and financial stewardship, while contributing to continuous improvement of financial operational processes. Provides cross-training support and functional backup to the counterpart Senior Financial Analyst to ensure continuity of financial operations, reporting, forecasting, and payment oversight during workload surges or absences. Provides periodic back-up support for front desk, phone coverage, and administrative activities in coordination with administrative staff to ensure uninterrupted services. This is an on-campus position in order to provide direct support for on-campus Facility Operations personnel. What You'll Do: Financial Reporting, Dashboarding, and Performance Insight - Develops and maintains operating and capital financial dashboards and reporting tools to support leadership visibility. Produces monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports; compiles trend analysis; monitors spend against budget; identifies and explains financial variances; prepares executive summaries and data visualizations to support strategic decisions. Consolidates data from Planon, University financial systems, and external sources to provide timely, accurate financial insight. Responds to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests. Payment Processing Oversight and Vendor Financial Coordination - Monitors and supports invoice routing, approval workflows, and payment execution for operating, capital, and real estate expenditures and receivables. Reviews invoices for accuracy, coding, and funding alignment; verifies consistency with purchase orders, contracts, leases, service agreements, and scope documentation. Tracks outstanding and aging payments; follows up on delays; resolves discrepancies. Coordinates with vendors, Procurement, Treasury, Accounts Payable, trades leadership, tenants, and Facility Operations management to ensure timely and compliant payment activity. Operating Budget Monitoring and Forecasting - Tracks and evaluates operating expenditures, labor and overtime trends, utilities spending, service contracts, and operational cost drivers. Performs variance analysis; develops projections; supports mid-year and annual forecast updates. Identifies risks and opportunities; recommends adjustments or corrective actions. Assists leadership in financial planning conversations and supports creation of budget support documentation and management reporting materials. Capital Financial Monitoring and Forecasting - Monitors capital project financial performance, including budget alignment, expenditure progression, contingency utilization, and schedule-related financial risk. Tracks spending status by project; prepares updates for leadership; supports forecasting for project and portfolio levels. Provides visibility into funding utilization; documents financial status changes; supports reporting for institutional decision-making related to active and planned capital investments. Financial Systems, Data Integrity, and Process Improvement - Uses Planon and University financial platforms to support standardized workflows, monitor financial accuracy, and strengthen transaction transparency. Supports system adoption, troubleshooting, and financial data consistency. Identifies opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve reporting capabilities, reduce manual effort, and enhance service responsiveness. Assists with documentation of financial operational procedures. Oversight of annual operating budgets exceeding $40 million, including stewardship of high-volume operating expenditures, payroll-related costs, internal chargebacks, and real estate revenue; and annual routine capital budgets exceeding $20 million, with a variable volume of non-routine projects up to $100 million. What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
* 5 or more years of progressively responsible financial management, budgeting, accounting, or financial operations experience.
* Experience working with financial reporting, budgeting, and enterprise financial systems. * Experience in higher education, public sector, facilities management, or other asset-intensive environments. * Experience managing financial functions supporting both operating and capital activities. * Advanced analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills; * Strong understanding of payment workflows and procurement coordination; * Ability to design dashboards and financial visualizations; * Proficiency with financial and reporting systems; * Strong communication and collaboration capability; * Ability to interpret complex financial data for leadership audiences; * Demonstrated ability to develop executive-level dashboards and reporting tools using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel. The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $64,662 to $74,980.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
