ABOUT THE JOB:
In 2020, two successful companies - WillScot and Mobile Mini - joined forces to become the leading provider of modular space and portable storage solutions (NASDAQ: WSC). As a result, our Accounting team is rapidly growing with many exciting opportunities. The ideal candidate for this role is highly motivated, detailed, adaptable, and ready to expand their professional career/acumen. The Senior Accountant should be able to deliver exceptional performance in a fun and fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Participation in the monthly close process, including preparing and booking assigned journal entries timely and in accordance with internal and external reporting requirements (all entries and accruals related to payroll tax, benefits and wages)
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial information utilized to determine and support key management estimates
- Perform key SOX controls for payroll accrual completeness
- Participate in the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in ARCS, ensuring accounts are reconciled timely, reconciling items are addressed timely, and reconciliations are updated as efficiencies and improvements are identified
- Assist in payroll tax research, document payroll processes and write narrative for payroll controls
- Assist in compiling and documenting government agency information and requirements for payroll tax and filings
- Pull funding and tax reports from ADP to support monthly balance sheet reconciliations and identify variance and filing issues
- Pull garnishment reports from ADP and compare against payroll deductions and funding to ensure accuracy
- Compile support from benefits for employee deductions and compare to payroll data for accuracy and completeness
- Contribute to additional projects and assignments as needed
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in AccountingandCPAorCPAcandidaterequired
- 2-5+ years of public accounting or public company experience required
- 2-5+ years of Payroll experience required
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and entire Office Suite
- Knowledge of payroll processes and requirements
- Ability to problem-solve and analyze new information
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Thrives when working independently and is resourceful
- Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks and projects concurrently
- Positive, motivated contributor to the Company's all-hands-on-deck atmosphere
- Experience using SAP and ECP, ADP, and ARCS a plus
