We are currently seeking a dedicated QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN - CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR to join our plant in Alexandria, MN plant. About the Role:

Responsibilities:



  • Read and comprehend shop fabrication drawings and specifications for steel bridge fabrication.
  • Understand codes and code requirements for highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, State DOT's, welding, bolting, cleaning, and painting.
  • Receive, complete, and maintain required quality control inspection records.
  • Verify dimensions of products or materials to match shop drawings.
  • Understand requirements for testing of welds, bolts, blast profiles, coatings, etc.
  • Visually inspect welds for conformance to codes.
  • Perform internal audits and assist in AISC annual audits.
  • Act as a liaison to outside inspectors.
  • Resolve quality issues.


About You:

We Require:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) training, testing and certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 and D1.5 Code Criteria.
  • Ability to interface effectively with shop supervision, management, and welding personnel.
  • Ability to perform and document inspection activities during fabrication and welding of structural piece members.
  • Ability to work outdoors or in open air environment.
