Description and Requirements

Lenovo is building Quantum, a next-generation hybrid AI platform that spans Windows, Android, and cloud. We are hiring a Windows Systems & Design Lead/Manager to drive the architecture, system design, and platform integration of AI experiences on Windows-based Lenovo devices.

This role is critical to delivering scalable, performant, and secure AI systems that power next-generation user experiences across laptops, tablets, and cross-device ecosystems. Your work will directly impact millions of users worldwide.

What You'll Do

    • Lead system architecture and design for AI-driven features on Windows platforms, from concept through production
    • Define and evolve end-to-end Windows system designs, including OS integration, services, APIs, and device-level capabilities
    • Drive the integration of on-device and hybrid AI systems with Windows frameworks, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability
    • Partner with AI, firmware, cloud, and application teams to deliver cohesive cross-device experiences across Lenovo and Motorola products
    • Design system-level solutions for resource management, security, privacy, and performance optimization on Windows devices
    • Influence technical direction for AI platform capabilities on Windows, aligning with Lenovo's broader Quantum and Qira strategy
    • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across system design, architectural reviews, and best practices
    • Stay current with Windows platform evolution, AI system design trends, and emerging device capabilities


Basic Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in system architecture, platform engineering, or large-scale software design
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
    • Strong experience designing and delivering Windows-based systems or platform-level software
    • Solid understanding of OS-level concepts, including processes, memory, performance, security, and system services
    • Programming experience in C++, C#, Python, or Java/Kotlin
    • Experience shipping production systems at scale on consumer devices
    • Strong system design skills with the ability to translate product requirements into robust technical architectures

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience building or integrating AI/ML systems on Windows (on-device, hybrid, or cloud-assisted)
    • Familiarity with Windows internals, Win32/UWP/Windows App SDK, or device driver and firmware interactions
    • Experience with cross-device or multi-platform system design (Windows + Android + cloud)
    • Background in performance optimization, power management, or security design for client devices
    • Passion for platform engineering, system design excellence, and staying current with emerging technologies
