Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Badge Control in Orlando, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control with badge checks and visitor guidance. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license. You will build strong communication with staff and the public, delivering service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Control access to the facility by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or appointments as required, issuing visitor credentials, and directing visitors to appropriate service areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disruptive behavior, summoning medical or law enforcement support when needed, and completing required notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including lobbies, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter points, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Document observations, incidents, and service calls in written reports and logs, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or incoming officers during shift transitions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have 1+ year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have an armed guard card/license.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
