Job Description




As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced chemical and petrochemical location supporting access control operations. As a driving post, you will help manage visitor and employee entry, issue and verify badges, and maintain clear logs and communication at the checkpoint. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols nearby as needed, and deliver helpful customer service while reporting security-related concerns with integrity and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing and collecting badges and/or credentials, and maintaining visitor, contractor, and delivery logs.
  • Screen vehicles, packages, and materials entering and/or leaving the site in accordance with site procedures, reporting irregularities and/or prohibited items to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events, notifying appropriate contacts, and supporting site response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checking doors, restricted areas, and process-support spaces; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of 1+ years' law enforcement experience OR 2+ years' security-related supervisor or manager experience OR 3+ years' security-related experience is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
