Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol, Clearance Required in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an aero and defense location, you will monitor key areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access points, respond to alarms and/or unusual activity, and provide clear communication and customer service to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate timely updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, office areas, docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working conditions may vary by site area and shift.
  • Monitor entry points and restricted areas as assigned, verify identification and/or authorization, and support visitor processing and package or property movement checks per post orders.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports including shift activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and escalate maintenance or security-related concerns through established channels.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Maintain an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
