What to Expect

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Systems Operations Specialist to support Tesla's Supply Chain Organization by acting as a critical point of contact for application end users, ensuring smooth transaction execution, and resolving operational bottlenecks. You will be part of a team that is managing strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across all of Tesla's Supply Chain Management Team. The role requires the ability to build strong cross-functional working relationships with our systems managers, supply chain, finance, vendor onboarding teams and wide population of purchasers. You'll engage with buyers, executives, and operational teams to balance hands-on support with strategic insights, ensuring systems meet both daily operational demands and long-term organizational goals. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to synthesize feedback, drive outcomes, and influence stakeholders across functions.


What You'll Do
  • Monitor and resolve operational user issues primarily related to purchasing applications, ensuring seamless transaction execution and workflow navigation
  • Collaborate across multiple teams (accounting, finance, buyers, suppliers) to configure and integrate systems, improving spend visibility and operational efficiency
  • Create comprehensive documentation (FAQs, training materials, user guides) to support application adoption and internal knowledge management
  • Act as the internal customer advocate, synthesizing user feedback, defining impact metrics, and prioritizing system improvements with the systems management team and IT engineering
  • Collaborate with systems managers, IT support, and end-users to capture requirements, identify risks, and escalate critical issues to ensure system reliability and alignment with business needs

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability (eg. Information Systems Management, Business Administration)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience with evidence of successfully supporting operational activities via application knowledge (e.g. product operations manager, systems analyst)
  • Experience working across and successfully influencing multiple internal stakeholders (systems managers, supply chain, finance, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests/inquiries simultaneously with quick turn around time
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to translate ambiguous needs into actionable in-app guidance, strategic thinking and interpersonal skills

    Expected Compensation
    $96,800 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
