Position Summary:
The Senior Cost Accountant works closely with the Operations Controller as the subject matter expert on all cost accounting activities for two sites. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for all cost accounting activities associated with manufacturing operations from raw materials to finished goods. Activities may include collect, analyze, reconcile, collaborate and track site activity and performance to ensure an accurate representation of manufacturing costs and expenses on the company's financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Senior Cost Accounting will maintain and execute the manufacturing costing process which includes reviewing and setting manufacturing standards in the Enterprise Resource Planning(EPR) system.
  • This role will coordinate cost variance analysis of manufacturing performance to standard to include researching, understanding and communicating significant discrepancies.
  • This role will collaborate and engage manufacturing personnel and site stakeholders in order to resolve costing discrepancies.
  • Will assist Operations Controller with month end activities, costing journal entries, account reconciliation and gross margin analysis.
  • Cultivate an understanding of Cirtec's manufacturing processes and identify root causes for discrepancies.
  • Proactively leverage reporting tools for data collection, monitoring, analysis and reporting to ensure accuracy of manufacturing costing processes.
  • Proactively develop analysis and reporting tools to effectively respond to potential concerns.
  • Be able to inform site management of possible issues and assist site leaders with manufacturing analysis as requested.
  • Be able to effectively present analysis or recommendation orally or written in a group or individual setting.


Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong knowledge of cost accounting standards & principles and the ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts.
  • Must possess prior working experience with ERP systems, with experience in data queries and extraction. Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query and SharePoint (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Good to have:

  • Job shop experience preferred.

Salary Range: 77,000 to 105,000 depending on experience and skills.
