Licensed Practical Nurse - Northwest Clinic Only

One full-time position | Northwest Clinic ONLY | Monday - Friday

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the general supervision of the medical providers. The LPN is responsible for the nursing practices, policies, and procedures of OneWorld Community Health Centers within the LPN scope of practice. Supervision of Health Assistants and Medical Assistants may be required.

• Provides clinical nursing services to patients within the LPN scope of practice, in an effort to meet the goal of providing primary healthcare services to OneWorld patients.
• Assists providers in healthcare activities, performs diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures, and administers medications as necessary.
• Ensures an appropriate environment for the administration of healthcare services by keeping exam rooms, nurse's station, equipment, and other work areas clean, safe, and orderly.
• Assists the Registered Nurse(s) with phone and walk-in triage. Communicates with patients in a courteous and professional manner. Gathers information and determines the disposition of the patient, under the direction of the provider or RN.
• Utilizes the nursing process to solve problems as they arise in the clinic. Seeks out the advice of a licensed provider or RN as needed.
• Directs the activities of Health Assistants and Medical Assistant and provides day-to-day supervision.

1. Diploma or degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from an accredited school required.
2. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nebraska required; or license eligibility.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
4. One year or more of nursing experience preferred.
5. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred.
6. Proficiency in English required.
7. Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to OneWorld patients and staff.
8. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
