Overview

Deriva Energy is a nationwide leader in sustainable energy, providing wind, solar, resilient backup power, and managed energy services to more than 1,000 projects across the United States, representing over 5,100 MW of non-regulated renewable electric capacity.

Summary

This role confirms and settles high volumes of customer invoices and sale transactions and reporting for Renewables. The analyst will work closely with teammates, managers, and external customers on various invoicing activities including interpreting contract terms and transaction details. Analyze and research ad-hoc requests, develop reporting, and support preparation for management review and decision making.

This position will be based in Charlotte, NC.

Main Responsibilities

  • Confirm pricing and work has been completed to invoice customer

  • Interpret and cross reference contract terms and conditions to transaction details

  • Serve as a backup for month-end activities

  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies

  • Process sales and payment transactions utilizing Maximo Service Provider

  • Validate completeness and accuracy of large volumes of data to support monthly close

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting or another related field

  • In addition to a degree, one (1) year or more of relevant working experience

  • In lieu of an associates degree, a HS Diploma/GED with six (6) years or more of relevant working experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in degree in economics, finance, accounting or another related field

  • Three (3) years or more of experience with invoices, sales transactions or other relevant experience

  • Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point

  • Experience with financial applications and query tools (e.g. AP systems)

  • Experience in banking industry

  • Comfortable with an environment that is constantly evolving and willingness to embrace change

  • Demonstrated ability to work self-directed in a dynamic environment and maintain multiple priorities while reporting to several different people

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency in their work, as well as maintaining confidentiality

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Must be able to effectively communicate within a diverse, cross-functional environment including managers, co-workers, customers, and corporate departments

  • Must be able to read and comprehend, retain, and follow oral and written communications, exercise good judgment, and set priorities to carry out work assignments

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Must be able to develop a base of knowledge of corporate administrative functions; differentiate subtle differences among various documents

Working Conditions

  • This role is based in Charlotte, NC

  • Employees must live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated office location or be open to relocating

  • 4 days in office required, option to work remotely 1 day per week
