The Supervisor, Dispatch, provides leadership and support to the dispatch center as well as supports operational needs as communicated by the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Dispatch Operations
    • 1.1 Supervise daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and efficient dispatching of EMS resources.
  • 2. Scheduling
    • 2.1 Create and maintain staff schedules for dispatchers and EMTs/Paramedics to ensure adequate coverage.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience desired. Previous healthcare work and supervision are desirable.

LICENSURE

Must maintain Connecticut EMT license, current CPR card, EMD certification, valid Driver's License, and driving record in compliance with Company policy regarding insurability. Holds and maintains motor vehicle operator's license in the state of legal residence. Free of any criminal history

SPECIAL SKILLS

Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively represent the Company when communicating to clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Demonstrates mature and confident mannerisms necessary for reassuring patients and clients.
Knowledge of primary streets/routes in the service area, some familiarity with medical facilities.
