*Medical Receptionist - Women's Services (OnSite)* *Location:* Arlington, VA
*Schedule:* Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:30 PM *Type:* Contract-to-Hire (6 months) *Category:* Patient Access / Front Office / Medical Secretary *Overview* A leading healthcare system in the Arlington area is seeking a *Medical Receptionist* to support its Women's Services team on the main hospital campus. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills and at least one year of healthcare experience who is looking to grow into a long-term role. This position offers both *front desk* and *administrative back-office responsibilities*, supporting patients, clinical staff, and daily operations. *What You'll Be Doing* *Front Office Responsibilities* * Register patients upon arrival and verify insurance information * Assist patients with automated/self-service registration kiosks * Schedule patient appointments * Provide directions and guide patients to appointment rooms * Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment *Back Office / Administrative Responsibilities* * Make follow-up phone calls and respond to patient emails * Schedule appointments and coordinate availability * Process insurance authorizations * Provide general administrative support to clinic staff as needed *Required Skills & Experience* * *1+ year of healthcare experience* * *Customer service-oriented* mindset * Experience with *patient registration* * *EMR experience* (EPIC preferred) *Nice-to-Have Skills* * Knowledge of medical terminology * General administrative experience * Experience with email communication * Additional EPIC system familiarity *Work Environment & Perks* * On-site role at a major hospital campus * *Free parking* * *Free shuttle from Ballston Metro* * *Supportive, patient-centered environment* *Why This Role Is Open* This is a *temp-to-permanent opportunity* created due to multiple openings within the department.
