*AV Field Technician (Patient Simulator Technology)* *Location:* Can sit anywhere on the West Coast (travelbased role)
*Reports To:* AV/IMP Supervisor *Type:* FullTime, Heavy Travel *Overview* The AV Field Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and supporting highfidelity patient simulators and the audiovisual systems that power modern medical training environments. These simulation solutions are used nationwide by hospitals, universities, EMS programs, and clinical training centers to help prepare healthcare professionals and ultimately save lives. This role combines AV installation, lowvoltage cabling, system commissioning, and handson patientsimulator setup. This position requires extensive travel to customer sites and offers the opportunity to work directly with lifesaving simulation technology while representing the organization with professionalism and technical expertise. *Primary Responsibilities* The AV Field Technician will: * Travel to customer facilities to install, configure, and support patient simulators and integrated AV systems. * Set up simulation environments including cameras, microphones, speakers, monitors, control stations, and recording systems. * Install and terminate lowvoltage cabling, route wiring, label connections, and integrate AV hardware with simulation equipment. * Configure, test, and calibrate patient simulators including sensors, wireless modules, and control software. * Troubleshoot AV signal flow, network connectivity, simulator hardware faults, and recording/playback issues. * Interpret wiring diagrams, rack elevations, installation plans, and technical documentation. * Deliver daily updates to project leadership regarding progress, site conditions, and customer interactions. * Provide basic user training for instructors, clinicians, and simulation staff on system operation. * Maintain accurate documentation including redlines, cable logs, and asbuilt records. * Maintain clean, organized workspaces in medical, academic, and simulation environments. * Support remote troubleshooting or escalations as needed. * Coordinate travel logistics aligned with project schedules. * Perform additional duties to support simulation and AV field operations. *Requirements* * 2+ years of experience in AV installation, field service, or simulationtechnology support. * Familiarity with patient simulators (Laerdal, CAE, Gaumard, etc.) is a strong plus. * Strong understanding of AV systems including cameras, microphones, DSPs, control interfaces, and recording platforms. * Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and construction documents. * Proficiency in lowvoltage cabling, terminations, labeling, and documentation standards. * Strong troubleshooting skills across AV, networking, and simulator hardware. * Excellent communication and customerservice skills, especially in clinical or academic settings. * Ability to travel up to 90-100%. * Must reside on the West Coast. * Valid driver's license and ability to meet credentialing requirements for medical facilities. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely on ladders, lifts, and active job sites. * Selfmotivated, organized, and adaptable to changing project needs. *Key Competencies* *AudioVisual Integration* Ability to install, terminate, configure, and troubleshoot professional AV systems used in simulation environments. *Patient Simulation Technology* Experience working with highfidelity medical simulators and supporting hardware is a significant advantage. *Troubleshooting* Skilled at diagnosing and resolving AV, network, and hardware issues under timesensitive conditions. *Customer Interaction* Comfortable working with clinicians, educators, simulation specialists, and technical staff. *Adaptability & Travel Readiness* Thrives in a heavytravel role working across varied environments and customer types. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
