Morris Central School has the following Openings Substitutes Needed Substitute Teachers provide instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and a positive educational environment. Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans left by the teacher, delivering instruction across subject areas, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment. Substitute Teachers supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and during other assigned duties. They take attendance, follow school policies and procedures, and communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress or concerns. Flexibility, adaptability, and strong classroom management skills are essential, as assignments may vary by grade level and subject area. Substitute Teachers must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. Minimum qualifications typically include a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree, depending on district requirements, as well as appropriate state certification or clearance. Substitute Teachers play a critical role in supporting student achievement and maintaining instructional continuity. Morris Central School is located in the central region of New York State. It is equidistant between the cities of Norwich and Oneonta; each being approximately fifteen miles away along State Route 23. Interstate 88 is minutes away and provides easy access to both the cities of Albany and Binghamton. The school is located in the village of Morris which is nestled in the heart of the historic Butternut Valley. The school population has remained steady over the past several years at roughly 300 students grades Pre-K through 12.
