Morris Central School Openings: A Teacher Aide supports classroom teachers in delivering effective instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment. Under the direction of the certified teacher, the Teacher Aide assists with preparing instructional materials, setting up classroom activities, and providing individual or small-group support to students. Responsibilities include reinforcing lessons, helping students stay on task, monitoring behavior, and promoting a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere. The Teacher Aide may assist students with special needs, including academic, behavioral, or personal care support, as assigned. Additional duties include supervising students during lunch, recess, field trips, and transitions, as well as performing clerical tasks such as copying, organizing materials, and maintaining records. Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; additional coursework in education or child development is preferred. The Teacher Aide plays a vital role in supporting student success and overall classroom effectiveness. Morris Central School is located in the central region of New York State. It is equidistant between the cities of Norwich and Oneonta; each being approximately fifteen miles away along State Route 23. Interstate 88 is minutes away and provides easy access to both the cities of Albany and Binghamton. The school is located in the village of Morris which is nestled in the heart of the historic Butternut Valley. The school population has remained steady over the past several years at roughly 300 students grades Pre-K through 12.
