Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the technical development and optimization of commercial pLEO constellation architectures, including orbital design, coverage analysis, and constellation-wide performance requirements
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for commercial constellation opportunities, representing In-Space Systems' technical capabilities and solutions
  • Develop constellation-level requirements and specifications that balance performance, cost, schedule, and manufacturability for high-volume satellite production
  • Interface between sales, marketing, and strategy teams and engineering teams to shape opportunities and ensure technical alignment with commercial customer needs
  • Lead technical aspects of business development activities including customer meetings, technical presentations, and capability demonstrations for commercial pLEO opportunities
  • Develop and write technical proposals and responses to RFIs/RFPs for commercial satellite constellation opportunities
  • Provide systems engineering leadership for constellation-level architecture decisions, including orbital configuration, inter-satellite links, ground segment integration, and constellation deployment strategies
  • Lead technical trade studies to optimize constellation performance, resilience, and total cost of ownership
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the constellation lifecycle, from design through deployment and operations
  • Stay current with industry trends and competitive landscape in commercial pLEO markets, including communications, Earth observation, and IoT applications
  • Represent Blue Origin's technical capabilities at industry events and customer engagements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in satellite systems engineering with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Experience with commercial satellite constellation architecture, design, and deployment
  • Demonstrated experience in technical proposal development and customer engagement for commercial space programs
