Suffolk's Summer Internship Program is designed to attract the best and brightest talent from universities across the country-students who think creatively, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are eager to solve real business challenges. This 9-week summer program offers hands-on, project-based experience and meaningful exposure to Suffolk's business, people, and culture.

As a People & Culture (P&C) Intern, you will gain practical experience across multiple Human Resource disciplines while supporting initiatives that drive Suffolk's continued growth. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, proactive, and passionate about people, culture, and organizational impact. Interns will collaborate closely with experienced HR professionals and gain insight into how strategic people solutions support a high-performing construction organization.

Exposure & Development Opportunities

The P&C Intern will have the opportunity to work on projects and initiatives across the following teams within the People & Culture department:

This exposure allows interns to explore multiple career paths within Human Resources while developing a well-rounded understanding of the employee lifecycle.



Responsibilities

  • Support 2 People & Culture functions through project work, research, reporting, and administrative support.
  • Partner with P&C team members to advance ongoing initiatives related to talent, learning, operations, engagement, and analytics.
  • Assist with data analysis, documentation, and process improvement efforts across HR programs.
  • Participate in Suffolk's internship programming, including online learning courses, networking events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute ideas that enhance the employee and candidate experience.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated alignment with Suffolk's Core Values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism, and Caring.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, with rising juniors and rising seniors preferred for this opportunity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Analytical, curious, and able to think critically to solve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.


Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
