Overview
The Director of Inpatient Behavioral Health Services provides leadership and operational oversight for all inpatient and hospitalbased behavioral health programs. This role ensures highquality, patientcentered care while fostering a culture of service, safety, growth, and fiscal accountability. The Director collaborates closely with behavioral health leaders within the Cedar Rapids market to advance shared strategic priorities, enhance care integration, and support the overall vision for behavioral health services within the community.

Responsibilities
Quality/Change Management
- Identifies performance improvement opportunities.
- Measures and meets quality goals and expectations.
- Creates teams that develop effective improvement plans.
- Leads projects proactively through change.
- Ensures services provided meet community needs. Leads, manages and supports the service line staff members.
- Accountable for assigned clinical services. (i.e. standards of care, clinical pathways, staffing plans, evaluation of patient care and services.)
- Accountable for administrative services. (i.e. development of budgets and effective use of financial resources, marketing and community health services, long range planning, cooperative relations with departments.)
- Examines, measures and continuously improves operational processes, procedures and systems.
- Maintains an open, honest, collaborative relationship with employees, the Medical Staff and the community.
- Establishes, is accountable for, and produces aggressive quality, service, growth, and cost targets and results.
- Demonstrates leadership in achieving quality patient care by optimizing use of resources.
- Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; be open and objective to other's views; give and welcome feedback; contribute to positive team goals; and put the success of the team above own interests.
Operational Efficiencies
- Leads development, implementation and achievement of annual operating and capital budgets targets for entire service line.
- Completes business plans for new programs or staffing.
- Plans strategies to achieve sustainable results.
- Understands the revenue cycle and supports processes to improve it.
- Prepares annual department budget with the Behavioral Health Services administration
- Monitors revenues and costs to meet financial goals
- Ensures efficiency of operations
- Aligns department goals with the UnityPoint Health Strategic Plan
- Develops plans for future growth
Patient Experience
- Understands the measures of patient satisfaction and uses them to lead service line in process improvement efforts
- Responds in a timely way to resolve patient problems and concerns
- Sets expectations to achieve the Best Outcome For Every Patient Every Time

Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Social Work or other Related Field
- Three or more years of leadership experience in behavioral health, hospital or other clinical environment.
- RN, MSN, LMSW, LISW or other related license or certification
