POSITION SUMMARY

This individual will work closely with a dedicated site services team and serve as the primary responder in the escalation chain for resolving technical issues related to Ebara and non-Ebara vacuum pumps and abatement systems. They will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues that cannot be addressed by site Field Service Technicians (FSTs) during routine maintenance activities. Additionally, the individual will document and communicate their findings from troubleshooting events and assist in further escalating issues to Ebara Japan or in achieving problem resolution. This role reports to the site manager and provides technical leadership to the entire Site Services Team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Services equipment as the senior-most technical specialist at a dedicated customer site, to include all contracted preventative maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, consumable changes, installations, and start-ups. (Essential)
  • Ability to interpret operation manuals to determine route cause of tool failures (Essential)
  • Has deep technical knowledge of sub-fab systems and applies formalized technical training in problem resolution and troubleshooting. Is the primary responder for all troubleshooting activities in the dedicated customer sub-fab, with responsibility for two geographic locations requiring limited travel. (Essential)
  • Provides documentation of preventative maintenance, downtime, issues, and time spent preparing reports for product movement and justification for on-site service. Must show proficiency in using customers system. (Essential)
  • Ordering, expediting, and notifying customers or management when replacement of the product is necessary. (Essential)
  • Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using service maintenance checklists and protocols. (Essential)
  • Provide mentorship and training to the entire site services maintenance team. (Essential)
  • Comply with Finesse training for proper maintenance of parts usage and transactions. (Essential)
  • Complies with EBARA's safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. (Essential)
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment compliant with Ebara and customer safety policies. (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (Non-Essential)

  • The ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted from the floor to waist level.
  • The ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.

Education



  • BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent vocational training and experience.


Experience



  • Preferred: 10+ years of work-related experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical skills. Working knowledge of principles of semiconductor and/or vacuum technology.
  • Strong Customer Relations skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot down to a component level.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Speaking in front of groups. Strong time management skills. Self-starter.
