The Park Office Assistant Specialized provides customer service, souvenir inventory management, and financial and cashiering functions for park users so they can enjoy a healthy and exhilarating experience.

We Require

  • Two years of experience performing clerical and administrative duties that include providing customer service

  • High School Diploma or GED

Other Requirements

  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

We Also Value

  • Cash handling experience using a computerized point-of-sale system

  • Three or more years of clerical duties, including customer service and public contact experience

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills

Job Contributions

  • Operate on the point of sale/reservation system and provide initial and ongoing training to volunteers and staff as needed

  • Prepare and process revenue, including counting cash and check intake for all revenue locations, and prepare reports and bank deposits daily for all park staff

  • Greet park visitors and interpret park features for customers, including, but not limited to, park use areas, rules and regulations, fees, and special uses of park lands

  • Respond to e-mails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries and concerns from the public, agencies, park personnel, or others regarding designated parks in a professional manner

  • Oversee ordering and inventory functions of the Nature Center, contact station, and souvenir fund

  • Prepare weekly/monthly park souvenir fund order; ensure order meets all department requirements

  • Provide general administrative support to park staff

  • Other job duties as assigned (e.g., light janitorial, litter collection, landscaping, exhibit display care, etc.)

Working Conditions

  • The position typically involves office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration while in the field

  • Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
