Job Description

Aligned with Allstate's shared purpose, the Corporate Tax Department is dedicated to providing highquality service to our stakeholders. The Tax Associate Manager is a tax professional who contributes to our mission of operational excellence, robust controls, and the advancement of data and technology capabilities within a highperforming team.
The Tax Associate Manager plays a key role in conducting research and analysis on complex transactions, performing reviews and analytics for quarterly tax provisions, and overseeing the preparation and compilation of annual tax returns. This individual is a selfmotivated professional who can also supervise and develop team members.
In addition, the Tax Associate Manager must have a broad understanding of insurance reporting and business operations to effectively serve as the first line of tax support for management on strategic, enterpriselevel decisions. Key Responsibilities

Federal Income Tax Compliance

  • Lead and supervise staff in reviewing tax adjustments and legal entity information for annual and quarterly tax compliance filings.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal tax law developments, ensuring proper implementation and operational execution within tax processes and calculations.
  • Respond to federal tax authority audit requests as required.

Tax Accounting and Reporting

  • Review and support the accurate preparation of tax accounting and regulatory reporting.
  • A strong background in generally accepted accounting principles and statutory insurance accounting is preferred.
  • Communicate regularly with accounting teams and guide tax staff to ensure awareness of changes that may affect assigned areas.

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct research and analysis of complex transactions to determine tax impacts.
  • Provide tax management with timely updates on issues and project status, including presenting recommended solutions.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Train, mentor, and coach staff to support professional growth and career development.
  • Assess the impact of process changes and improvement initiatives on broader tax processes.
  • Communicate effectively in meetings with crossfunctional teams and external consultants to explain tax implications of proposed transactions and process changes.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities with both short and longterm timelines through effective time management and prioritization.
Functional Skills
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of tax concepts necessary to successfully perform key responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of both tax compliance and tax provision software; experience with the Onesource platform is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively use tax research tools and resources to stay informed on current tax developments, assess business needs, and produce thorough, wellsupported analyses.
  • Capability to independently perform complex tax or accounting analysis and conduct research on issues that affect assigned areas of responsibility.
Experience

* 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is $85,000 -$132,700 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

*** Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
