Inpatient Coder II (Remote) We're seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder II to join our remote team supporting a highacuity, Level I Trauma academic environment. In this role, you'll accurately assign ICD10CM, ICD10PCS, and MSDRG codes across a wide range of complex inpatient cases, collaborate with CDI specialists, and submit electronic queries when clarification is needed. Responsibilities: * Code diverse inpatient specialties, including trauma and critical care * Maintain 95% accuracy and meet productivity standards * Assign POA indicators and support accurate DRG assignment * Assist with mortality, rehab, and special case types * Support denial rebuttals and participate in projects Requirements: -A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an inpatient coder at an academic facility. * Required Education: -Coding Certificate Program Completion or Associate Degree in HIM or equivalent. Preferred Education: -Bachelor's degree in HIM or equivalent. Required Certifications & Licensure: -Certified RHIA/RHIT or CCS. What You'll Do * Accurately assign ICD10CM, ICD10PCS, and MSDRG codes across diverse specialties (Neurology, Oncology, Ortho, Cardiology, Critical Care, OB/Newborn, Trauma, and more). * Partner with CDI specialists to ensure complete and accurate documentation. * Submit electronic queries to providers when clarification is needed. * Maintain 95% accuracy, meet productivity expectations, and correctly assign POA indicators. * Code a variety of specialized account types, including mortality and rehab cases. * Assist with insurance denial rebuttals and participate in special projects. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
