Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • To maintain, operate, repair, build and rebuild plant infrastructure and systems pertaining to it.
  • To assist all other crafts in the maintenance and construction of plant equipment within the Spirit-Wichita facility. By means of, including, but not limited to painting, carpentry, general labor, plumbing, HVAC/R, pipe fitting, tinning, welding, millwright work, operation of boilers and compressed air systems, operation of waste water systems, operation of process water-systems, within the individual's skill set and/or with proper training.
  • Trouble shoot and repair all refrigerant, gas, steam and hydraulic systems.
  • Install, repair, replace, rebuild, troubleshoot, adjust, and balance all HVAC/R equipment including, but not limited to Chillers, hydraulic, oil, and spindle coolant chillers, degreasers, cold boxes, comfort air systems, and paint booth air handling units containing cooling medium.
  • Any and all controls and components associated with HVAC/R equipment feeding from the main power disconnect (480 volts nominal or lower) and within the unit, such as, pneumatic, electrical, electromechanical control components, variable frequency drives, and motors.
  • Building systems monitoring, diagnosing, and repairs of systems and controls and devices directly or indirectly related to HVAC/R equipment including chilled water, hot water, condenser water and cooling towers.
  • Monitor, record, and analyze pressures and temperatures in order to recognize out of specification conditions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have an EPA Refrigerant Card
  • Majority of new hires will be hired on 1st shift.
  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prefer 2 yr. minimum commercial HVAC experience.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $25.09/hour, with potential to earn up to $43.13/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
