HEM (Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright)

SUMMARY: Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment within a heavy industrial facility. This equipment includes hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, cranes and hoists, conveyor systems, duct collection systems, pumps, piping systems, and other similar equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical failures in production machinery, material handling systems, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, pumps, gearboxes, etc. Execute timely and effective repairs to minimize downtime.
* Equipment Rebuild: Rebuild various valves, cylinders, and other equipment using assembly drawings. Properly replace seals, packing, O-rings, and tighten fasteners to given torque specifications.
* Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures. This includes lubrication, alignment checks, vibration analysis, filter changes, and general inspection of equipment health.
* Installation & Rigging: Install new machinery and equipment using precise leveling and alignment techniques. Safely rig, hoist, and move heavy equipment using cranes, hoists, and forklifts, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
* Welding & Fabrication: Perform various welding tasks and basic fabrication as needed for repairs, modifications, and equipment installations.
* Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all plant safety rules, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, confined space entry protocols, and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Actively participate in safety meetings and hazard identification.
* Collaboration: Communicate effectively with operations staff, management, and fellow maintenance technicians to coordinate repairs and projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* The duties listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the skills to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION:
* High school diploma or GED
* Technical training or millwright certification is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions, including elevated heights, tight spaces, and varying temperatures.
