Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, is responsible for performing a wide variety of production and manufacturing duties as they relate product manufacturing, in particular welding. Assist in data collection and integrity, transaction processing, and/or reporting, for the work being performed. The success of each area is highly dependent upon timely and accurate performance of each assigned task.

Responsibilities

  • Performs material preparation activities in a timely, accurate and safe manner. This mainly will involve the cutting and grinding of material for use in the welding process.

  • Uses tape measures, levels, squares, and hand/power tools to prep material for use. (i.e. grinders, band saws)

  • Uses various means such as color coding, markers and labels to identify which materials are tied to which control numbers (sales orders), as well as to identify their material type.

  • Uses various "material" handling equipment in a safe manner, as is necessary to accomplish duties.

  • Welding - On Demand / Rotational Support

  • Can interpret blueprints for production of equipment.

  • Can understand and follow applicable procedures used in the production of the product.

  • Can successfully weld at least two different types of materials.

  • Production Control and Other Administrative Support

  • Participates with teams working on continuous improvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately perform math problems required.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal exchanges required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environments required.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds plus and to operate common material handling equipment required.

  • Completion of trade school or community college course work in welding is desirable.

  • Exposure to, or knowledge of, "Lean" concepts is desirable.

  • Must be able meet requirements needed to work in government contract environment.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $24/hr to $34/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
