Position Summary:

Manager III, Pharmacy Operations, is responsible for leading, motivating, guiding, and supporting the daily operational performance of a designated region of retail pharmacies. This role ensures compliance, customer service, staff development, and clinical program execution across multiple locations. The Manager III acts as a strategic and operational partner to store pharmacy teams, driving key initiatives to meet business goals, manage the full P&L, and elevate patient safety and care.

Job Requirements:

Operational Excellence
  • Manage and support a region of retail pharmacies, ensuring consistency in operations, standards, service, and performance.
  • Monitor pharmacy KPIs and metrics to drive performance improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and support a region of retail pharmacies (30-40 stores), ensuring consistency in operations, standards, service, and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits, audits, and team meetings to assess needs, provide feedback, and implement changes.
  • Reviews all incident reports and follows-up with pharmacy team to ensure a culture of compliance and patient safety.
  • Support technology rollouts, process improvements, and initiatives driven by corporate pharmacy leadership.
  • Review and manage pharmacy inventory practices including ordering, returns, and shrink control.
  • Communicates with the Director of Pharmacy and Regional Directors concerning issues pertaining to pharmacy.

Team Development and Leadership
  • Coach and develop pharmacy managers and staff to ensure excellent customer service, patient care, business growth, and compliance
  • Implement pharmacy programs and clinical services including but not limited to vaccinations (both internal and external), Autofill and med synchronization, MTM, and health screenings.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and cross-functional departments to support integrated business operations.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training of pharmacy personnel.
  • Maintain relationships with pharmacy schools and represent the company at college career fairs for the purpose of recruiting new pharmacy graduates and interns.
  • Improve team member engagement through positive, consistent, and clear communication to pharmacy and store teams.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm); Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive pharmacy operations experience in a retail or grocery setting.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving pharmacy business growth.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, third-party billing, and clinical services in the retail environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), motivation, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy systems, data analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to utilize data in strategic planning
  • Frequent travel to store locations across the region.
  • Fast-paced, customer-centric retail environment.
  • Strong customer service and complaint resolution skills
  • Estimated Travel: 75%, with overnight travel occasionally as needed.
