Program Manager IHPS (Health Policy Studies) Full Time 88241BR Job Summary The Program Manager will oversee a moderately sized resarch gprogram, using advanced operational concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues. The incumbent administrative operations, finance, human resources, and facilities for the program. The incumbent will regularly work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The incumbent should be able to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving the program's goals and achieving results according to established timelines that they will help set. In addition, the incumbent will also develop and implementat new programs and processes, including supporting fundraising and grantwriting, obtaining human subjects approval, and overseeing data acquisition and infrastructure management. The incumbent will work with the Director on formulating short- and long-term planning and procedures to advance the research program's agenda. The incument will oversee and coordinate other team members who are conducting complex statistical analyses to evaluate federal, state, and local health policies, including facilitating discussions around project progress and priorities, and they may become more involved with the research aspects of projects if their expertise is an appropriate match. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $116,000 - $174,000 (Annual Rate). The primary purposes of the Institute are to advance knowledge of health services and health policies through basic and applied research; to contribute to the solution of health and social problems through the application of research findings to health policy issues at the international, national, state, and local levels; and to provide education and training opportunities for students and practitioners in the health professions, students and faculty in disciplines relevant to health policy, recent graduates seeking careers in health policy, as well as policymakers and program managers.
