Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol in Chattanooga, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. You will document activity, respond to calls for assistance, and work as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification of clinical staff and/or leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, corridors, parking areas, and the building perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Control access at designated points by monitoring foot traffic, checking identification and/or visitor credentials when required, and directing individuals to appropriate locations.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Vaccines are required for this hospital assignment.
  • This hospital assignment includes working in and/or around a morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be able to restrain individuals as required in a hospital setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
