Essential Functions
- Responsibilities include managing internal communications between benefits, payroll and accounting departments
- Review and audit insurance carrier invoices to be reconciled with client employer practices.
- Verifies the calculation of monthly premium statements for insurance policies and administer payments to various insurance carriers on a monthly basis.
- Track and assist in resolving billing discrepancies
- Serve as a backup to processes including payroll, pay calculations, and reporting
- Assist with the bi-weekly general ledger entries, updates and report reconciliations
- Tracking and handling special billing situations and billing discrepancies
- Assist with audits to ensure data integrity
- Work closely with manager to improve accuracy and standards of billing processes
- Prepare reporting of necessary payroll adjustments and work with payroll to process them
- May assist with researching benefit processes/issues (i.e. vendor files, open enrollment, and benefit plan changes)
- May prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and queries
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Strong skills using MS Office to include Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Good analytical abilities and numerical aptitude
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or years of experience equivalent to degree
- Five or more years of labor and payroll accounting and processing experience
- Experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations preferred
- Experience working with general accounting principles
- Experience with Government Travel Regulations is a plus
- Experience working with Costpoint and Deltek Time & Expense a plus
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
