One full-time position | Location TBD | Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Job Duties

The Behavioral Health Therapist works within an interdisciplinary environment with a focus on providing integrative care. One of the primary functions is providing brief behavioral health visits in a medical clinic via the Primary Care Behavioral Health Model (PCBH), both in-person and via telehealth, to satellite clinics. During the interview and at the conclusion of the one-month orientation, the therapist and their supervisor can solidify the therapist's daily assignments, which may include 1-2 days of PCBH, and other therapy clinics such as: short-term therapy via the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), traditional therapy, therapy inside of a school-based clinic, and/or substance abuse therapy. OneWorld is growing and looking to build more behavioral health services and offer more treatment modalities, so we encourage discussion about future opportunities at the interview.

  • Partner with primary care providers (PCPs) to improve the overall health of the patients. Communicate in a brief and clear manner with the PCPs about the patients' cases. Make recommendations that decrease physician visits and workload.

  • Provide behavioral health services to patients that can include a complete history, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and/or hospitalization when necessary. Communicate with patients' families, as appropriate.
  • Refer those cases that require support (e.g., social work, WIC) or specialist services (e.g., psychiatry, inpatient treatment) but maintain responsibility.
  • Engage effectively as a member of an integrated health care team by providing unscheduled services and/or being available to team members for consultations on an as-needed basis.

In addition to the items outlined above, Fully Licensed Therapists may be asked to:

  • Provide clinical supervision to a trainee, intern, and/or a provisional Behavioral Health Provider. This supervision is to be in accordance with standards and guidelines to licensed and unlicensed Behavioral Health Staff for integrated primary care/behavioral healthcare, substance use, and/or traditional therapy modalities.
  • Review, provide feedback, and co-sign screenings, assessments, diagnostic evaluations, chemical dependency evaluations, treatment plans, and progress/visit notes. Use these reviews to provide quarterly chart reviews on supervisees.

In addition to the items outlined above, Provisionally Licensed Therapists may be asked to:

  • Attend and participate in clinical supervision, which will be provided by the organization.
  • Record hours and move towards full licensure.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited program in a field related to mental health practice (counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, etc.) required.
  • Current licensure, or license eligibility, in the state of Nebraska required. (PLMHP, LMHP, LIMHP, LCSW, LICSW.)
  • Licensure or provisional licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) ideal to provide these specialty services.
  • Training and/or experience in trauma-focused treatments using evidence-based interventions preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required. Experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred.
  • Proficiency in English required for all locations; proficiency in Spanish is preferred depending on clinic location and need.
  • Demonstrated comfort and ability to work with patients across the life cycle, particularly the substance abuse population.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, practicing in an integrated health care setting providing time-limited consultations in collaboration with PCPs.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to working in a fast-paced clinic, all while maintaining accurate patient documentation in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse patients and staff.
