Job Description




As a Security Officer - Driver Perimeter Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, and coordinate with campus partners and/or public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence hall exteriors, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by observing visitor flow, verifying identification when required, and directing guests to appropriate destinations.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoffs; document suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns, and escalate issues through the chain of command.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
