JOB SUMMARY This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job. The Biostatistician plans, executes, and interprets statistical analysis to ensure the statistical integrity and accuracy of biomedical or clinical research data. Applies statistical theory, methods, and mathematical expertise to biological, public health, and medical research to design studies, collect, analyze, and interpret complex data. Develop methodologies for acquiring high-quality data, choose and implement appropriate analysis models, identify trends, and communicate findings to guide public health policy, clinical decision-making. Present statistical findings to internal teams, external collaborators, and regulatory agencies. Ensure that all statistical activities comply with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines. Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional. Conducts highly complex work with full autonomy and extensive latitude for independent judgment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct. * Design research studies and clinical trials, determining the necessary sample size and planning how to collect accurate and reliable data. Additional duties include: * Assist PIs with developing a priori analytical plans MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics or related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Five (5) years of direct experience in biostatistics or related. License/Certification: None. KNOWLEDGE These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or licensure/certification. * Strong understanding of statistical principles, methods, and software; expertise in SAS programming PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The Physical Requirements and Working Conditions in which the job is typically performed are available from the Occupational Health Department.
