Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Business Analyst to work on our Technology Deployment team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off.

Technology Deployment translates Idaho National Laboratory's innovations and research outcomes into real-world impact. Through the technology transfer process, the team evaluates new discoveries, protects intellectual property, and secures strategic licensing agreements. Working closely with industry and other external partners, Technology Deployment helps bring new products, services, and solutions to market-ensuring INL innovations deliver measurable economic and societal value.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Technology Deployment's business systems and operations, including data governance, system integration (IPDS, EROD, IPManager, Technology Deployment Dashboard), compliance monitoring, external reporting validation, and continuous process improvement to ensure compliant, functional, and efficient tools, processes, and resources.
  • Manage the Laboratory's software release process, working with software creators and Technology Deployment management, and oversee all Software Disclosure Record (SDR) submissions to ensure Technology Deployment managed releases follow approved and compliant pathways.

  • Review open-source license terms for compatibility and risk and provide guidance to authors and commercialization managers on acceptable licensing strategies.

  • Coordinate with software authors to assess testing, verification, and validation practices, and overall technical readiness prior to release; facilitate author interviews and code review meetings in support of BEA quality expectations.

  • Provide technical and process guidance to Procurement by reviewing Ariba requests and advising on contracting mechanisms and rights-in-data considerations, without exercising procurement or legal authority.

  • Plan and lead Technology Deployment self-assessments, including development of assessment plans, documentation of issues, definition and monitoring of corrective actions, and preparation of briefings for Technology Deployment management and the DOE technical monitor.

  • Represent INL and Technology Deployment on national boards and working groups; administer quarterly patent payment activities, monitor external IP payments, and support preparation of performance plans, metrics, and industry engagement reports.

Required:

  • Level 4: Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 9 years of experience. Master's and 6 years of experience. PhD and 4 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience in process management; interpreting statutes, regulations, and contract language; reviewing, validating, and managing authoritative records and data; or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying federal regulations, DOE requirements, and contractual obligations; supporting audits or assessments; and managing or validating data across enterprise systems.

  • Experience collaborating with technical, legal, procurement, and administrative stakeholders; supporting software release or disclosure processes; and preparing accurate internal or external reports.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in process management; interpreting statutes, regulations, and contract language; reviewing, validating, and managing authoritative records and data; or related roles.

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is $95,256min - $195,288max. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to handle materials, manipulate tools, keyboard, and type, reach with hands and arms, and operate job-related equipment. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
