Job Summary:

The purpose of the Coating Maintenance Tech is to be responsible for making first quality carpet and notifying supervisor of any quality problem.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Work safely with complete adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Be a committed employee who adds value, endeavoring to make EF a high performance workplace.
  • Must be able to identify problems with the coater and repair back to proper working order.
  • Responsible for making first quality carpet and notifying supervisor of any quality problem.


Performance Expectations (if applicable):



  • Lifting is required of machine parts and tools weighing 1 to 40 lbs 10 to 30 times per shift.
  • Standing is required approximately 6 hours per shift.
  • Reaching is required for parts and tools every 10 to 15 minutes though out shift.
  • Stooping is required once an hour for 10 minute intervals.
  • Bending is required to work on machines 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Must be able to operate lift truck.
  • Must be able to use wrenches continuously during shift.
  • Scissors and hand trucks once a shift.
  • Power tools 3 to 4 times weekly.
  • Must be able to climb underneath machines or on top of machines if needed.
  • Lifting is required of metal and wood weighing 1 to 70 lbs 10 to 30 times per shift.
  • Clean latex filter baskets every hour.


Experience/Education Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write and do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job.
  • Welding and fabricating experience.
  • Carpentry skills.
  • Knowledge of:

    • Pumps and mixers
    • Sprockets
    • Sewing machine
    • Rollers and bearings
    • Motors
    • Gear boxes and chains
    • Hydraulic pistons and lines
    • Piping
    • Air lines




Other Requirements:



  • LTO certified
  • Self starter.
  • Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
  • Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
  • Safety equipment must be worn as required.
  • Must be trained in Lockout / Tagout.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • All accidents must be reported immediately.
  • Overtime is required on occasion
