Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed startup developing an AI-native B2B SaaS platform designed for manufacturing organizations. The platform helps companies reduce direct material procurement costs by providing visibility into the true cost of manufacturing components globally. Using advanced analytics, data modeling, and artificial intelligence, the platform enables organizations to improve sourcing decisions, reduce supply chain costs, and accelerate product introduction timelines. The company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technical vision, architecture, and engineering organization. This executive will play a critical role in defining the technology roadmap, scaling a data-intensive SaaS platform, and building a high-performing engineering team. The CTO will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to support product innovation, operational scale, and future fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Architecture
- Define and execute the company's long-term technology strategy and technical roadmap.
- Architect and scale a data-intensive SaaS platform supporting advanced analytics and AI-driven insights.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and implement solutions that improve platform performance, security, and scalability.
Product & Platform Development
- Lead the development and delivery of the company's software platform, ensuring high-quality and reliable product releases.
- Oversee platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, and development processes.
- Ensure engineering teams deliver scalable solutions aligned with product and business goals.
Engineering Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering organization.
- Manage distributed and offshore development teams while implementing efficient collaboration processes.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, operations, and business leadership to align technology initiatives with company objectives.
- Engage with customers and partners to understand technical requirements and incorporate feedback into the product roadmap.
Executive & Investor Collaboration
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to support strategic growth initiatives.
- Participate in discussions with investors and support fundraising efforts by articulating the company's technology vision and platform capabilities.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience building and scaling data-heavy SaaS platforms, ideally within an early-stage startup environment.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience working with data analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning platforms.
- Experience managing distributed and offshore engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Background in manufacturing, supply chain technology, procurement platforms, or industrial SaaS.
- Experience helping scale a startup through growth stages and fundraising initiatives.
- Familiarity with large-scale data platforms and advanced analytics workflows.
