POSITION TITLE: Compensation Analyst (Temporary/Resource Employee)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compensation Analyst will lead a fastpaced, compensation refresh project. This role will work under the Total Rewards Director, and run benchmarking, market pricing, salary band updates, employee positioning analysis, and creation of actionable recommendations to ensure our compensation is aligned with market.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Compensation Refresh (Primary Scope - Approx. 2 Months)



  • Update salary bands and bonus benchmarks across all roles and job families
  • Conduct comprehensive market pricing for all positions using Comp Analyst or AON Radford
  • Analyze employee placement vs. market (comparatio, outliers, compression)
  • Develop a datadriven action plan to bring employees into market alignment (scenarios, cost modeling, timing)
  • Prepare and validate UKG-ready files for salary structures, job codes, bonus targets, and job descriptions
  • Partner with People teams to ensure alignment and data accuracy
  • Deliver clear, thoughtful, recommendations and insights


Job Architecture (Secondary Scope - this would be an add-on and would extend project)



  • Standardize job descriptions across the organization
  • Identify and build missing levels (e.g., Director, VP) and assign job codes
  • Develop career tracks to support talent mobility and consistency
  • Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.


Engagement Details



  • Contract role for approximately 2 months with potential extension
  • Must be able to support a fast-turn, high-priority project
  • Remote candidates welcome; San Diego onsite is available
  • Must be able to work with sensitive compensation data with full confidentiality


REQUIREMENTS:



  • 5-10+ years of experience in Compensation, with deep expertise in market pricing and salary structure design
  • Hands-on experience with Comp Analyst, AON Radford, or comparable market data platforms
  • Exceptional Excel skills (complex formulas, modeling, data QA, scenario analysis)
  • Experience preparing and validating comp structures for HRIS, ideally UKG
  • Ability to manage a large volume of detailed analytical work while keeping sight of broader strategy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop clear recommendations for leaders
  • Experience operating in a multi-level job architecture environment preferred


COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $60.00 to $70.00/hourly, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
