About The Position

The Distribution Design Associate is primarily responsible for managing customer Distributed Energy Resources (DER) projects, as well as being technically knowledgeable regarding engineering on utility distribution electric lines.

Key responsibilities include:

* Under the direction of Supervising Engineers/Supervisors Distribution Design, represent the Company as a single point of contact with customers, developers, and DER installers regarding service requests.

* Provide DER engineering services on customer projects including processing pre-applications, applications, and payments.

* Manage customer applications to meet with the ICC time requirements.

* Provide excellent customer service to contribute to the customer satisfaction goals of Ameren Illinois.

* Maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's policies and DER requirements to ensure customers are educated.

* Understand all of the key components of the Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA) to provide excellent customer service.

* Understand the Illinois Power Agency Adjustable Block lottery process to ensure the correct procedures are followed.

* Obtain all required customer approvals and execute Interconnection Agreements when necessary.

* Coordinate with Field Engineering to ensure projects are designed in a timeframe to meet in service requirements on DER projects.

* Process and complete jobs using the Power Clerk system and other Ameren resources.

* Maintain a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with the Company's external and internal customers.

* Work may occur in a field or office environment and the Distribution Design Associate will be subject to emergency call-out requests.

Qualifications (Associate)

Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field preferred.

Three years relevant utility industry experience (e.g., design or construction experience on electric or gas distribution lines, experience with distributed generation interconnections like solar and wind, field operational experience working with utility contractors, customer representatives or construction personnel) may be considered without required Associates degree.

Qualifications (Specialist)

Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field required. Three years relevant utility industry experience (e.g., design or construction experience on electric or gas distribution lines, experience with distributed generation interconnections like solar and wind, field operational experience working with utility contractors, customer representatives or construction personnel) required.

Five years relevant experience may be considered without required degree. Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field preferred and may substitute for two years of required relevant experience.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$60,200.00 - $110,200.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
