The Oracle ERP Environment Manager is an individual contributor responsible for day to day technical management, coordination, governance oversight, scheduling, and execution support for Oracle EBS and Oracle Cloud environments. This role ensures environments are available, refreshed, patched, and aligned with project and testing needs. The focus is on operational coordination, communication, documentation, and cross team alignment. The role supports defined processes but does not own platform strategy, architecture, or long term environment governance. Partner with Hosting, Infrastructure, DBAs, Cloud Admins, Security, Audit, QA, and Release Management to deliver predictable operations, rapid incident resolution, and alignment with major projects, quarterly updates, and enterprise testing.

Finalround interviews are conducted in person.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of Oracle PROD and non-PROD Environments.
  • Lead documentation, run books, including version controls on Project and Operational activities for DBA Team.
  • Partnering with DBA Manager, create, maintain and publish DBA Team's Shifts calendar and assign weekend tasks according to the environment schedules.
  • Support incident handling by engaging the right teams, documenting timelines, and communicating updates; escalate per established processes.

Oracle Environment & Instance Management

  • Manage the full environment lifecycle (intake/allocation, configuration/right sizing, retirement) and serve as approval authority for new instances, non standard configurations, and exceptions.
  • Maintain a detailed environment catalog capturing instance inventory, current application and database versions, patch set levels (Cohort Schedules), last refresh/clone dates, active project assignments, and usage timelines to support scheduling and planning; drive environment reduction/optimization via consolidation, enforced reuse and lifecycle compliance.
  • Coordinate, broadcast communications on instance downtime, maintenance widows and any other technical activities.

Patching, Release & Change Governance

  • Govern global patching, major version upgrades cadence (EBS & Cloud) with impact/risk reviews, test scope, and go/no go decisions; enforce entry/exit criteria, sign offs, and back out plans for every deployment.
  • Provide readiness and dependency updates to align with quarterly Cloud releases and project timelines.
  • Support the Release Team by coordinating environment related tasks for deployments, patching, cloning, configuration migrations, and version updates.
  • Maintain environment specific inputs to the release calendar (environment availability, sequencing constraints, freeze windows); the Release Team retains ownership of overall scheduling, governance, and CAB processes.

Cross Functional Collaboration & Enterprise Alignment

  • Coordinate with DBAs, Cloud Admins, Integration teams (e.g., OIC), QA, Release Management, Build/Run, Security, and Program/Project teams to align schedules and dependencies.
  • Communicate environment availability, constraints, risks, and conflicts; drive resolution through timely follow ups and clear status updates.
  • Maintain shared trackers, calendars, and documentation to support predictable, repeatable execution.

Environment Cloning, Refresh & Integrated System Coordination

  • Coordinate environment refreshes and cloning activities with DBAs, Cloud Admins, Integration teams, and QA.
  • Ensure pre refresh prerequisites and post refresh validations are completed by the responsible teams.
  • Communicate refresh plans, blackout windows, risks, timelines, and outcomes; capture lessons learned and improve checklists/templates.

Security, Access Governance & Compliance

  • Support IT Security in SOX aligned access controls, privileged access reviews, evidence preparation, and environment change control requirements; oversee non production data protection (masking/scrambling, secure handling of HR/Payroll/Financial data) and partner to remediate vulnerabilities and support audits.

Incident, Problem & Escalation Management

  • Serve as primary escalation authority for environment, hosting, and Oracle platform incidents; lead bridges, ensure RCAs within agreed timelines, and drive Corrective / Preventive Action to closure; communicate impact, resolution, and follow ups to stakeholders.

Architecture, Modernization & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Technical Architects, strengthen environment architecture, hosting patterns, connectivity, resiliency, and automation; define/enforce standards (config baselines, topology conventions, integration patterns, alignment rules).
  • Identify technical debt, systemic risks, and gaps; modernize to improve stability, reduce complexity, and lower long term operational burden; automate provisioning, patching, refresh, and validation workflows. Track operational metrics (change success, availability, refresh/promotion cycle time) with transparent reporting; maintain reusable runbooks, SOPs, governance playbooks, and architectural decision records.

High Priority - MOS SR Coordination

  • Serve as the coordinator for high-priority Oracle MOS SRs by logging SRs (when needed), tracking progress, scheduling Oracle/DBA calls, ensuring required evidence is collected, and escalating delays (DBA team will take care of regular Oracle SRs and take coordination help from this role as needed).
  • Maintain an SR tracker with categories, severity, status, blockers, and next steps.
  • Publish weekly and monthly SR summaries for leadership review.

DBA KPI & Performance Reporting

  • Collect operational metrics from DBA and Cloud teams, including SR volumes, change requests, refresh/patch execution counts, and SLA adherence.
