Job Summary


The Interventional Radiology (IR) E&M Nurse Practitioner will provide inpatient consultation and management, daily rounding on established IR patients, assist with admission and discharge for primary IR patients and with care coordination for all IR patients across three campuses. This role converts currently unbilled clinical work into billable E&M services, improves timeliness of consultations, and enhances continuity of care for patients undergoing IR-managed therapies.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $105.50 - $138.63 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient or acute care NP experience.
  • Ability to independently perform inpatient E & M assessments

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in interventional radiology, surgery, hospital medicine, critical care, or oncology.
  • Experience with inpatient consult services.
  • Experience working in an academic medical center or large integrated health system.

License/Certification


  • California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction
  • California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction
  • California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges
  • NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Adult Hybrid Inpatient and Outpatient (ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC) . See Addendum A below for more detail.
  • California Driver License (if required for position)
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Additional required AHA certifications:
  • Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
