  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (6 a.m.-2 p.m.)

The primary function of the Airgas driver role is to safely deliver bulk liquids and gases to customers, strictly adhering to all company safety policies"including the immediate reporting of injuries"as a core condition of employment. The driver is expected to maintain highly professional customer relationships while ensuring all delivery and vehicle documentation is completed thoroughly and accurately.

Here are the specific requirements and details for the role:
  • Safety & Compliance:Working safely is a condition of employment; must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and immediately report any accidents or injuries.
  • Customer Interaction:Maintains courteous and professional relationships, communicates in person on ordering/delivery times, and provides timely communication to the distribution manager or salesman regarding customer changes.
  • Delivery Operations:Includes unloading from truck and supplying proper delivery documentation, as well as safely loading and unloading gases to customers' vessels.
  • Paperwork:Must complete all delivery paperwork neatly and thoroughly, and maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with shipping documents.
  • Vehicle Maintenance:Required to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, advise of needed repairs using the report form, and have any immediate problems repaired before going on route.
  • Administrative Duties:Assists management in route evaluations and efficiencies, attends at least one safety meeting per month, and keeps the inside of trucks clear of paper and trash.
  • Schedule:Responsible for performing on-call delivery duties during weekday, after-hours, and weekends as assigned by the manager.
  • Performance:Expected to align with the "Be, Act, Engage" framework (care, adapt, trust, and grow).
  • Class A Drivers:Operate vehicle combinations with a GVWR/GVW of 26,001+ pounds where the towed vehicle(s) is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Class B Drivers:Operate a single vehicle with a GVWR/GVW of 26,001+ pounds, or such a vehicle towing one not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
________________________ Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements

  • Hazmat IS REQUIRED. CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED UNLESS THEY CURRENTLY HAVE THEIR HAZMAT

  • Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements

  • No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years

  • No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years

  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment

  • Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment

  • Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift experience

  • 1 year of CDL experience
