Job Type: Seasonal (Fixed Term) (Seasonal)Pay Range: $17.85 - $21.73 HourlyDepartment: Facilities, Fleet & Park ServicesFLSA Exemption Status: Non-ExemptAbout the Opportunity: We are currently hiring one (1) seasonal Park Aide to work at Scoggins Valley Park, home of Henry Hagg Lake. This position works outdoors in a beautiful setting, 40 hours per week, April through September 2026, during daytime hours, eight hours per day in one of the following shifts:
In this role, you will assist in making the Park a clean, safe and enjoyable place for visitors. In this position, you will clean and maintain park grounds and facilities, set up and clean up after events and rentals, identify safety issues and positively interact with the public in the execution of duties. Additionally, you will use a variety of tools and vehicles to accomplish these duties. Some positions will also work in the fee booth greeting patrons, selling parking passes, and providing general park information. The incumbent will provide quality customer service, have a positive attitude, and willingness to be a team player. Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
About the Department/Division: Scoggins Valley Park at Henry Hagg Lake offers visitors the best of outdoor recreational activities. Maintained and operated by Washington County Parks, the park features numerous day use areas, two boat launching facilities, a fully stocked lake for fishing, more than 14 miles of hiking trails, reservable picnic shelters, 18-hole disc golf course. As part of the Facilities, Fleet and Parks Department you would join a team comprised of a group of staff with a passion for public service, skilled in various roles who can respond to various park needs and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Staff may be required to multi-task and adapt to reactive and emergency situations based upon the needs of the season. Our teams take pride in their work, exercise leadership as well as engage professionally with county business partners, contractors and/or clients, have consistent attendance, and as a team player demonstrates good communication skills both orally and written. Staff shift priorities to respond to urgent work requests with pride, professionalism, and a positive demeanor that represents the best the Parks Division has to offer patrons of the parks. Minimum Qualifications Park Aide is a working title. This position is classified as a General Services Aide.
